Alcohol and Dementia

Recent articles in the press have given prominence to a study that claims to show that mild drinking can decrease the incidence of dementia by 85%. If true, this would be a marvellous cure. However if one considers the very large margin of error in the reposted results, one can only conclude that alcohol may have a mildly protective effect, and the exact magnitude of it is yet to be determined.
