How many more times will we write about Crestor™?

The last time we wrote about Crestor™ , we stated "There are other cholesterol-lowering drugs that are not known to have excessive dangers, and it would be best to stick with those." Now there is specific research that shows that Crestor™ does indeed have a much higher rate of side effects, some of them dangerous, compared to other statins. A report to be published in the journal "Circulation" (scheduled for June 14th, 2005, currently on line), finds that adverse reaction rates (per one million prescriptions each, for comparison), is significantly higher for Crestor™, compared to other routinely prescribed statins (simvastatin, pravastatin, and atorvastatin). So why use Crestor™? Not for any reason we can think of, especially in light of their own (AstraZeneca) disclaimer - CRESTOR has not been shown to prevent heart disease or heart attacks.
