Natural Remedies

Until a few years ago, there was little information concerning the efficacy and safety of natural (herbal) remedies. Now that medical studies are examining the benefits of herbal remedies, we are discovering that that they may do much good. The remedies we have discussed here - St. John's wort, glucosamine, chondroitin, echinacea, saw palmetto, and omega 3 - are all widely used, but have shown to possess very little, if any benefit. If you are one of the many supporting the multi-billion dollar herbal remedy industry, you might pause to think whether you are geting your money's worth!

You might want to check out other pervasive myths and urban legends relating to supplements - Vitamin C doesn't help prevent colds or alleviate their symptoms, drinking 8 glasses of water a day just causes you to spend more time in the bathroom, and antioxidant supplements don't make you more healthy.
